Jason Pinkney

Jason is the lead vocalist and guitarist for Built For Speed.  He has been playing guitar since he was 12 years old.  He was heavily influenced early on by artists like Brad Whitford and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, Brian Setzer, Scotty Moore, Buddy Holly, and Eddie Cochran.

He has played in various projects over the years and started Built For Speed in 2021. His playing style combines a heavy dose of bluesy, rock riffs, country, and jazz.  Jason is a true gear lover and loves to collect guitars and amplifiers. "Play 'em all.  That's what they are made to do!"  

 

Favorite Venues to play : "All of 'em!  But The Mousetrap, Speal's Tavern, Beck Ringland Tavern, and outdoor festivals all hold extra special meaning. Especially when we get to play in front of my hometown friends!"

Favorite Songs To Play In The BFS Setlist :"I love every song that we play. Every single one is special. But my personal favorites are Rock This Town, Twenty Flight Rock, and Double Talkin' Baby."

Gear Used: Jason plays modified Gretsch guitars ran straight into a Nocturne Brain Mystery Brain 301 Preamp/ Delay with Fender and Supro amplifiers.
